David Messenger is CEO and co-founder of Mast Mobile. Mast provides a mobile sales productivity platform that embeds your CRM into your sales team’s day-to-day activities, automatically loading all their client communications into the database. Reps can focus on selling, not data entry, and the company gets value from its investment in CRM. It solves the biggest challenge for CRM systems (manual data entry) which is increasing as team move to mobile devices. Mast provides an additional work number on your employees phones, that uses cellular service and integrates with all carriers – ideal for BYOD environments. Both numbers work natively so the user doesn’t have to toggle back and forth between apps and Mast applies intelligence in the network layer to use the right number based on who is being called/calling. As Executive Vice President and General Manager, in 2010 he set up American Express’ new Online and Mobile business unit. This opened up new customer segments and new geographies, with a new payments and digital commerce platform. He established partnerships to drive distribution, including Verizon, Zynga, and Ticketmaster, and made strategic investments/acquisitions, including Sometrics, Payfone, and Deem. He led the entry for the Serve platform into China with partnering with LianLian. Previously, he worked at Virgin Mobile USA, where he was responsible for running all operations and corporate strategy. He played a leading role in the sale of Virgin Mobile USA to Sprint for $730M and the integration of Virgin Mobile with Sprints’ other prepaid businesses to create a new unit with over 10M customers and $4B in revenue. In 2007, he was a key member of the executive team in successfully taking Virgin Mobile public in an IPO of over $400M. Previously, he was a Principal at Towers Perrin and Price Waterhouse, working with major corporations on mergers and acquisitions and managing a consulting practice.
